Costs of health care are enormous and increasing much faster than inflation. Most employers want to help their employees afford medical insurance to cover these costs. Employers with as few as two employees (including the owner!) can purchase group insurance from nearly any insurance company or plan in California. Each carrier has several different plan designs including HMOs, PPOs and Point of Service plans. In addition, some mid-size employers may benefit by implementing a partially self-insured plan.
